Fall 2007 / Generation: School of Art & Art History Alumni Exhibition
James Madison University's Sawhill Gallery, Harrisonburg, VA
2007 marked the centennial anniversary for James Madison University, and the School of Art & Art History marked the occasion with several
special exhibits. "Generation" showcased one work from an elected alumnus from each department within the School. I am proud to have
represented the Metal & Jewelry department with my latest work, "and so it begins".

Born out of the process of making and highlighting recent events in my own
life, "and so it begins" is a spontaneous recreation of life, death, necessity,
cleansing, starting anew and the one element that seems a part of each:
love. Constellations of zodiac signs represent individuals reflected in a night
sea. Reflections as memory, stars become permanent gestures, homage
to the energy that's focused on a life interrupted by illness and death.
